The Giovanni Consort

The Giovanni Consort and organist Alessandro Pittorino team up to present a special concert with music inspired by animals. The key work for this concert will be Benjamin Britten’s monumental Rejoice in the Lamb, composed in 1943 and based on the poem Jubilate Agnoby Christopher Smart.The poem, written while Smart was in an asylum depicts idiosyncratic praise and worship of God by all created beings and things, each in its own way.

Alessandro will be performing on a Rodgers Organ, which is sponsored by Principal Organs.

Rodgers' 60th Anniversary Sydney Spectacular

Please join us as we celebrate Rodgers' 60th Anniversary at this spectacular concert in Sydney. International organists Dan Miller, Tony Fenelon, Alessandro Pittorino and Sean Henderson will showcase the latest Rodgers organs, as never seen before, with a guest appearance by the Scholars of St Mary's Cathedral Choir. It will be a wonderful, entertaining couple of hours enjoying beautiful music and even a silent movie.

Remembrance Day Concert

November 11th this year commemorates the centenary, to the very day, of the end of the First World War.  

Following PSC’s long tradition of ANZAC concerts, we will mark this significant occasion with a performance on Remembrance Day of the 'Fauré  Requiem' and Vaughan Williams’ 'Dona Nobis Pacem' with relevant narration and projections to deepen the meaning of the music’s texts and the day’s significance. 

This will be a performance that will move everyone present and help us mark the day with respect and gratitude.

Albion: English works for choir and organ

The Giovanni Consort will delight audiences with some of the masterworks that were written by great English composers during the past century. Conducted by Jangoo Chapkhana and accompanied by Alessandro Pittorino in the architectural magnificence of St Mary’s South Perth, The Giovanni Consort will deliver stunning renditions of pieces by composers including Leighton, Howells, Finzi and Delius. Sacred and secular works will be performed as we close our 2018 Season with as much pomp and majesty as possible.

ABS Concert Series

Intimate Evenings Chamber Concerts: Wednesdays 7:30PM
 
These chamber music concerts take place in The Church dimly lit in the evening. It creates an otherworldly atmosphere perfect for appreciating the masterworks of the classical repertoire. 

Organist Alessandro Pittorino performs moving music Elgar, Wagner, a new piece of his own, as well as Bach's monumental Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor.

NYC American Guild of Organists Opening Concert

The first event of the NYC AGO season is on Monday, October 9 at 6:00 PM, featuring Chapter competition winner Alessandro Pittorino in recital, followed by a champagne reception. Alessandro knows the IV/76 Casavant instrument well from his time as Organ Scholar there. A champagne reception follows the recital. 

Admission: Free to NYC Chapter members; $10 general
